Introduction to the Arab People Group

From North Africa to the Middle East, there are 19 countries with a population of about 380 million people.

The Middle East is the birthplace of Islam, and most of the countries there are predominantly Islamic. The majority of Muslims in most countries are over 90% Muslim, including Arabs, Persians, Turks and Kurds.

Many Muslims have never had the opportunity to hear the Gospel in their lives, and AGS’ International Member has taken a humble heart and loving approach to reaching out to people in creative ways, serving in daily lives and sharing the Good News and love to the Muslim friends.

Research has shown that if 1 worker had to serve 50,000 target people, it is estimated that over 5,000 workers are needed from North Africa to the Middle East. Pray that the Lord may send more workers to share the Good News.

Introduction to the Jewish People Group

The Middle East is primarily an Arab world where the Jewish people group is of considerable interest to other groups. There is religious freedom in the countries where the Jewish communities live, with about 40% of the Jewish population (including traditionalists, orthodox and extreme-orthodox) and about 40% of the secular Jewish population, with the rest including Messianic Jews (Jews who believe in Jesus Christ as the Messiah), Arabs, Christians and Druze making up for 20%.

There are now about 300 Messianic communities in the area, with about 30,000 believers. It is the birthplace of many of the world’s major religions, and the Gospel comes from the Jews, but they are the Least Reached People. AGS’s International Member serves with a partner organization there. The main focus of the International Member is friendship evangelism, with weekly outreach and visits, as well as occasional pre-evangelistic gatherings, such as single mothers’ meetings and Chinese New Year celebrations, to reach out to the local people and share the Good News through various means.
